Marlon Brando; The Contender An On The Waterfront Film Review
Marlon Brando plays an ex-boxer in this realistic 1954 mob drama, On The Waterfront. Brando plays Terry Malloy, who's brother is involved with the mob. Terry has witnessed a murder, and has the opportunity to testify against the mob, although doing so would put his brother and the bosses away for good. Thanks to Brando's multifaceted acting, the viewers can feel the realism (the sandwich scene!). The beautiful cinematography shows the close relationship between Terry and his brother Charley, as well as his budding relationship with the beautiful Edie, played by Eva Marie Saint. This film has timeless elements such as love, action, betrayal, and corruption that make it one of the greatest films of its time.
